FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Oakland, CA– Returning for it’s 5th year, Bay Area Queer Zine Fest is pleased to announce this year’s festivities will feature a hybrid of in-person and online events from November 13th through November 19th 2022 plus a pre-BAQZF zine swap on Saturday November 12th. This week-long showcase will feature a selection of vendors on our website, a virtual panel, zine readings, and an in-person workshop. Event calendar and details will be revealed in the upcoming weeks via social media.

As the premier event highlighting the intersection of LGBTQIA+-created narratives and independent publishing in the Bay Area, BAQZF continues its commitment to preserve the histories of these communities by expanding this year’s installment to include a panel and a workshop led by community members. As queer and trans visibility is attempted to be dimmed by antiquated and misinformed beliefs, providing inclusive programming and forums with an emphasis on amplifying the voices of queer, trans, Black, indigenous, people of color, femmes, disabled folks, and other marginalized groups empowers community members to share their stories and talents, inspiring the next generation of queer artists to step into their truth.
