break & bloom zine
Welcome to the break & bloom zine! Our mission is to design a space for people to make the art they want— free from expectations to create for someone other than oneself. The name break & bloom takes inspiration from the Chinese character, 绽, which can mean to break or to bloom. This zine is meant to give creatives a chance to do both, to break into a space of their own and to bloom and flourish there. Past issues are free to read online. We welcome submissions anytime!
break & bloom zine is was founded by Audrey and Vania, two queer Bay Area locals who wanted to find a safe space to create art for the sake of art. Supported by their friends and family, this little passion project turned into two years, over twenty art submissions, and three beautiful issues.
